Great Abington Gears up for the Olympics

As a prelude to our sports days this year - and another more widely anticipated series of sporting events happening soon elsewhere - we have been celebrating the approaching Olympics at Great Abington. We dressed in the five colours of the olympic rings, one colour for each family group. The photos were taken with our wonderful new playing field as a backdrop.


Our traditional Sports day was really special this year as we had a visit from a genuine olympic torch bearer, Mr Barden whose two children Sarah and Isaac used to attend Great Abington Primary School. We held a competition for the best olympic torch designed and made by the children at home. All the entries were brought to school for the torch parade with Mr Barden and the genuine article. There were masses of brilliant entries as you can see below.
