Madama Butterfly - Creating An Opera Geisha

Visit the Madama Butterfly dressing room with Costume Design Coordinator Melanie Burgess, Hair & Makeup Designer Joyce Degenfelder, and Lead Hair & Makeup Artist Shelby Rogers as they take you thru the process of getting a "geisha" ready for the stage. Puccini's serene "Humming Chorus" helps set the scene.

Madama Butterfly -Love duet- K.Opolais, J.Valenti - Royal Opera House

Live from Royal Opera House, Covent Garden - Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY with fantastic cast: James Valenti as Pinkerton and Kristine Opolais as Cio-Cio-San. Young soprano Kristine Opolais (replacing Patricia Racette) was fabulous Cio-Cio-San with real and true emotions, she is real actress and I am not afraid to compare her with such Puccini interpreters - stars as Renata Scotto, Maria Callas, Renata Tebaldi, Angela Gheorghiu.
