Years 3 and 4. All the children in classes 3 4 and 5 got a chance to 'Meet the Greeks' on Tuesday (18th November) in the form of the enormous statues in the Museum of Classical Archaeology. In the session for years 3 and 4 we learned about the statues on the pediments of important Greek buildings. Everyone had a chance to explore the museum to find their favourite statues and our leader told us the myth about Medusa and how her children Pegasus and Chrysaor were born when her head was cut off by Perseus. Gory stuff! We also saw a couple of painted statues - did you know that all the statues would originally have been painted in quite bright colours?
Here are a few photos of our trip.
